Salon owner Katie nails cosmetic award.

WARWICK Salon owner Katie Barnes has been crowned the winner of BABTAC Nail Technician of the Year.

Katie, director of Simply Nails and Beauty Ltd, on Smith Street, was selected as one of four nalists to perform a trade test in Gloucester to display her skills and knowledge.

Judges announced her winner of BABTAC Nail Technician of the Year at 1920s themed awards ceremony at Wroxall Abbey.

Katie, who has run her business in Warwick for six years, said: "After eight years in the industry and since becoming an independent educator in 2013, I decided to enter this competition with the prospect of being recognised for my passion and skill in this competitive eld.

"My goal is to make an impact in this industry by educating future nail technicians while mastering and challenging my own skills and keeping up to date with future trends and education.

"I was absolutely thrilled and honoured to have won this prestigious award and all my passion, hard work and dedication has allowed me to accomplish this."
