Salmond MSP row.

ALEX Salmond's plans to return to Holyrood by seeking election in Banff and Buchan were blasted yesterday by one of his party rivals.

The Holyrood seat for that constituency is now held for the SNP by Stewart Stevenson, and leadership contender Mike Russell challenged Mr Salmond to reveal what deal he'd struck with Mr Stevenson.

In the clash after a hustings meeting at East Kilbride, Mr Salmond, who is MP for Banff and Buchan, suggested he planned to stick with that constituency as an MSP.
