Sajith's camp claims deal reached with Ranil.

United National Party (UNP) Ministers backing the nomination of UNP Deputy Leader Sajith Premadasa as the Presidential candidate of the United National Front (UNF) at the next elections, claimed that an agreement has been reached with UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe. Non-cabinet Minister of Economic Reforms and Public Distribution, Dr.

Harsha de Silva said that an agreement will now be signed after talks with the UNF partners. Dr.

Harsha de Silva tweeted saying the agreement will be finalized in a few days after discussing with partners to nominate Sajith Premadasa as the UNP led alliance candidate for the 2019 presidential race with the total backing of Ranil Wickremesinghe and Speaker Karu Jayasuriya. Meanwhile, Minister Harin Fernando tweeted saying UNP Deputy Leader Sajith Premadasa had a very positive discussion with the Prime Minister last night and will be appointed as the UNP Presidential Candidate in a few days.

Speaking to reporters following the meeting last night Premadasa had said that more discussions will be held among party members to reach a final decision
