Sainsbury's, Tesco and Aldi customers complain of 'rotten turkeys' ruining Christmas; Dozens of families have taken to Twitter to complain about supermarkets Morrisons, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Aldi and Lidl.

Dozen of disgusted families have complained that they have been sold 'moudly' turkeys - leaving theirChristmas Dayruined.

Brits across the country have taken to Twitter to slam supermarkets Aldi, Morrisons, Sainsbury's andTescofor selling them 'rotten' birds.

Many are complaining they are having to go hungry on the most special day of the year.

Some pictures show green turkeys which don't look as fresh as their buyers expected - despite being in date.

@BubblyNatz said: "@Tesco Thanks Tesco. Best Christmas ever with a mouldy turkey!!! Absolutely disgusted."

@GiancarloBiagi4 said: "No Christmas turkey for the family, the one we bought from Chester @SainsburysNews @sainsburys is clearly rancid - any ideas? Have family of 6 to feed? @SainsburysMag".

@ThornyNic posted a photo of her turkey, saying: "Thanks to @Morrisons our family Christmas dinner is ruined.

"Stinky, green, rotten turkey crowns is not what I expected to pay over [pounds sterling]40 for. Disgusted is an understatement! #notahappychristmas".

@daniiH2701 tweeted:"just gone to get our turkey out to cook to find it slimy and going mouldy! Thank you for ruining our Christmas Aldi...

@jenventure also had her Christmas ruined. She wrote: "bought a nice fresh turkey this week from Camberley in date until the 26th, opened it up today and it's off! Christmas ruined".

Sophie Bardrick, who bought her turkey from Sainsbury's, tweeted that her turkey was green.

Another Twitter user wrote: "just had mt christmas ruined by a tesco turkey which stank the kitchen out when i unwrapped it. now knocking up something else for the family".

@cliffgutter wrote: "thanks Tesco for ruining our Christmas.. the fresh turkey we bought from your Bicester superstore on Wednesday was taken out of our chiller a couple of hours ago only to find it stunk our house out being off! With 10 people coming to dinner you have completely ruined Xmas".

The Mirror has contacted Aldi, Lidl, Tesco, Morrisons and Sainsbury's for comment.
