Sailing club celebrates its 50th annual regatta in style.

Loch Ard Sailing Club held its 50th annual regatta recently with six races over two days in weather which saw good winds and sun on the Saturday and more challenging winds and rain 24 hours later.

John Cooper, the club's first Commodore in 1968, presented a special 50th Regatta Winner's Trophy to Calum Robertson and also generously presented the club with a new Commodores'name board.

Calum took the trophy in his Streaker dinghy from Rob Cordingley's Flying Fifteen Silver keelboat, crewed by Oscar Wingate, and Robert Signer (RS Quba pro dinghy).

On the Sunday afternoon, there was also an informal three-race series for young beginners in Optimist dinghies. The young people enjoyed the challenge of competition and coping with changing sailing conditions. Jonah Bracciali was first with Archie Gordon second and Siena Vladimirov third.

Everyone enjoyed a bring-andshare buffet organised by Sue Signer, club treasurer, after the presentations.
