Sage Publications (Thousand Oaks, CA) will begin the publication of two new journals later this year, including "Criminal Justice Review" with a March issue and "International Criminal Justice Review" with an issue in May. To be produced quarterly, "Criminal Justice Review" is designed to present a broad overview of criminal justice issues within the U.S. and provide a forum for researchers to report their findings with respect to crime and justice "through innovative and advanced methodologies," Sage said. It will provide information on law, crime and justice in the U.S. as well as those aspects of crime and the justice system that impact local, state and federal concerns. "International Criminal Justice Review" will be published three times a year and will be dedicated to presenting system-wide trends and problems on crime and justice throughout the world. It is designed to provide a forum for social scientists to report research findings for policy making with respect to crime and justice through new methodologies.

In related news, Springer Science+Business (New York) will begin the publication of "Criminal Law and Philosophy" later this year. The new journal will be produced quarterly and an annual subscription costs $369. Described as "an international journal for philosophy of crime, criminal law and punishment," the new title is being targeted to academics in philosophy, in law and in criminology who take a "philosophically informed critical, analytical or normative approach to criminal law and criminal justice," Springer said. It is also targeted to legal practitioners with an interest in philosophical approaches to their practice.
