AARP Driver Safety Program will offer driving classes at several locations in November.
The driver refresher course is designed for motorists age 50 and older and is intended to help older drivers improve their skills while teaching them to avoid crashes and traffic violations.
Auto insurance companies, in most states, provide a multiyear discount to AARP graduates.
The eight-hour course is taught in two, four-hour sessions spanning two days, and costs $10.
AARP members and nonmembers alike may take the course.
There are no tests. Classes for November are scheduled on the following dates and locations:
Nov. 5-6 at 9 a.m. at Lone Oak Assisted Living in Eugene. 463-7700.
Nov. 9 and Nov. 16 at noon at Oasis/Macys in Eugene. 342-6611, Ext. 2601.
Nov. 10 and 17 at 9 a.m. at Kendall Ford in Eugene. 342-2151.

Forum to be presented on measures in Coos Bay
The League of Women Voters of Coos County will present a Public Voter Forum on Measures 49 and 50 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Council Chambers of Coos Bay City Hall, 500 Central, Coos Bay.
The meeting is open to the public, which will hear pros and cons of the measures and can submit written questions.

Environmental activist to speak on climate at UO
The Oregon Humanities Center will present author and environmental activist Bill McKibben speaking about global warming in a talk titled "Building the Climate Movement" at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Erb Memorial Union ballroom, 1222 E. 13th Ave.
