Sabre wins GBP4.1m contract from Gulf Air.
The US-based IT company Sabre has won a GBP4.1m contract from the Bahrain-based carrier Gulf Air to implement, customise and maintain four of its products for the streamlining of the airline's IT operations.
Last year Gulf Air signed a ten-year, GBP161m outsourcing contract with Sabre. Now the airline has selected four additional products from the company - Sabre WiseVision, Sabre E-Commerce Reservations Tool (ECRT), Sabre Airops and Sabre Aircrews.
Sabre WiseVision will be used to automate Gulf Air's sales management. Sabre ECRT is an online booking engine that will provide the airline's travellers with a dedicated interactive agent over the Internet. Sabre Airops is a flight operations management and control system and Sabre Aircrews is a decision support system that will support Gulf Air's crew management needs.
Gulf Air, which serves major cities in the Middle East, Europe, the Far East and the Pacific, is owned by the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar and Oman.
