Saba Enhances Content Authoring Software; Saba Publisher Simplifies Content Authoring and Helps Create Engaging Content for Diverse Audiences.

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. -- Saba (Nasdaq:SABA), the premier Human Capital Management (HCM) software and services provider, announced it has strengthened its content authoring capabilities by enhancing Saba Publisher, its content creation and publishing tool. Seamlessly integrated with Saba Content Management and the Saba Enterprise Learning Suite, Saba Publisher enables users to create compelling online presentations, courses and supplemental materials, without programming skills.

With this latest release, Saba continues to provide one of the industry's easiest-to-use authoring tools and a powerful Learning Content Management Systems (LCMS) with an open authoring tool strategy that allows content authors to use the tools with which they are most familiar.

Saba Publisher makes it easy for subject matter experts to create and publish e-learning content that supports e-learning standards such as AICC or SCORM, without the need for programming skills. It also helps users save time and money by repurposing existing content instead of throwing it away. Tight integration with Saba Content Management allows users to save Saba Publisher content into the learning object repository and search the repository for content to import into Saba Publisher. Additionally, users can take advantage of the test-building capabilities in Saba Publisher to create questions using wizards and assemble them into tests. With these capabilities, organizations can dramatically accelerate the knowledge sharing process, which is critical to achieving business objectives.

The latest version of Saba Publisher adds new user-centered features -- such as sticky notes, grids and guides, object grouping, and extended menu options -- to make the product even easier to use. The tool also simplifies the creation of more engaging content by including features such as enhanced table and cell options, multi-line buttons, question feedback and enhanced transitions. To simplify the development of content that works for a wider variety of audiences, Saba Publisher now enables users to preview content in multiple browsers, and adds a new translation tool and configurable run-time verbiage.

"Effective communication is a key ingredient within any successful organization. The better an enterprise is able to share information and knowledge, the more rapidly it can respond to opportunities, challenges and competitive threats," said Bobby Yazdani, chairman and CEO, Saba. "Saba Publisher is a powerful tool for sharing knowledge across the enterprise, ensuring that the right information gets into the hands of the people who need it most."

Saba's LCMS Solves the Content Challenge

As organizations move to blended and informal learning, more and more content is being developed internally. The need to manage and control these rapidly-growing volumes of content scattered across the enterprise, along with the increasing pressure to produce better learning curricula faster, drives many organizations to seek ways to manage learning content effectively.

Recognizing that the best and most relevant knowledge comes from subject matter experts, organizations are moving to shift the content burden from centralized instructional designers to distributed subject matter experts, while retaining the benefits of standardization and centralized availability of content. This model requires an open, scalable learning content management system that can accommodate content created in a variety of tools and formats.

Saba Content Management helps organizations capture, consolidate, organize, manage, and reuse critical learning content developed and stored in the many silos across an organization. With Saba Content Management, organizations can realize substantial cost and productivity efficiencies while developing better skills and knowledge across their extended enterprise.

Saba Content Management is the industry's first LCMS truly designed for managing and delivering content on an enterprise scale. Tightly integrated with the Saba Enterprise Learning Suite, Saba Content Management makes it easy to publish content to the Saba Learning portal for access by learners throughout the extended enterprise. The solution works in conjunction with Saba Publisher to provide a comprehensive, integrated content management solution, or it can be used with a wide range of third-party authoring tools.
