The Swedish defence and aerospace group Saab said on Monday (3 July) that it has received a SEK1bn contract for continued development of the Gripen aircraft system.

The contract, awarded by the Swedish defence materiel administration, covers software upgrades and other development activities supporting the long-term development of the Gripen system.

The work will be carried out by Saab Aerosystems, Saab Aerotech and Saab Avitronics.

One Swedish krona (SEK) is worth approximately 0.07 British pounds (GBP).
