SYSTEMS CENTER SIGNED BY SWIFT TERMINAL SERVICES AS STRATEGIC PARTNER; NDM TO BE PART OF NEW SWIFT WORLDWIDE DATA EXCHANGE SERVICE
RESTON, Va., Nov. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- SWIFT Terminal Services (STS), the world's leading supplier of communications software to the worldwide SWIFT network, has recently selected Systems Center as a new addition to its list of strategic partners. SWIFT is a consortium comprised of members from the banking sector.
Under this worldwide agreement, Systems Center plans to integrate its Network DataMover (NDM) product into the STS interface to the new Interbank File Transfer (IFT) service provided by SWIFT so that the two products will be compatible.
STS chose Systems Center in recognition of the success, popularity and global spread of the NDM product within the financial services sector. Network DataMover automates data transfer functions based on pre-defined criteria and provides a central library of production procedures for better management control of data flows. All NDM activity is automatically logged to an audit trail, providing statistics for all events. NDM is available across a variety of hardware platforms and operating systems.
"Application to SWIFT Network integration is a key role of STS," said Peter Scott, marketing director of STS. "The agreement with Systems Center will have a positive impact on assisting banks to link their host-based applications to the new IFT Service via STS interfaces. We believe this agreement with Systems Center will help our customers to more quickly obtain benefits from the exciting new IFT service."
"The selection of Systems Center as a strategic partner by SWIFT Terminal Services is a significant endorsement for NDM," said Terry Booth, vice president and managing director, Systems Center Europe. "SWIFT Terminal Services has exacting requirements for the appointment of third-party partners. By definition they must be companies with a significant number of global banking software product sales. With this agreement, Network DataMover is poised to become the preferred host-based data transfer system for financial services. Major organizations such as the Securities Industry Association for Wall Street trades and Blue Cross and Blue Shield for insurance have already adopted Network DataMover as the standard by which data is transferred."
SWIFT Terminal Services (STS) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of SWIFT. Created in 1980 to supply interface equipment based on the SWIFT standard, STS has evolved a range of services and products guaranteed to match perfectly the evolution of the SWIFT network.
SWIFT Terminal Services is now the leading supplier of SWIFT interface equipment worldwide, and is the vital third partner in the group formed by SWIFT, the member and user institutions and STS. SWIFT Terminal Services continues to advance products which offer the high efficiency needed in key financial applications, together with the excellent security required for safe handling and transfer of funds.
Systems Center, Inc. (NYSE: SMX), develops, markets and supports systems and network management software. The company's products assist in the automation and control of computing environments and are marketed in 55 countries worldwide.
