 SYNTELLECT ANNOUNCES INTENT TO ACQUIRE DYTEL
 PHOENIX, May 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Syntellect Inc. (NASDAQ: SYNL), a


leading supplier of interactive voice response systems, announced today that it has entered into a letter of intent proposing to purchase the assets of Dytel Corp., a Schaumburg, Ill., manufacturer of call processing products. By the terms of the proposal, the purchase price will be paid primarily in cash and would amount to approximately $6.8 million. It is anticipated that the proposed transaction would close on or about June 30, 1992, and is subject to the negotiation and execution of a definitive agreement and approval by the boards of directors of both companies and by the shareholders of Dytel. During the year ended Dec. 31, 1991, Dytel's net revenues were approximately $7.5 million.
 Thomas R. Mayer, president and chief executive officer of Syntellect, stated, "The addition of Dytel's product lines, patents and intellectual property rights can have both immediate and longer-range benefits to Syntellect. In addition, Dytel has some very talented and experienced employees who can make significant contributions to the development of Syntellect's future business."
