SPARTANBURG, S.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 26, 1996--Synalloy Corporation (Nasdaq:SYNC), a producer of specialty chemicals, dyes and pigments, stainless steel pipe, vessels and process equipment, announces it has completed the acquisition of Manufacturers Chemicals Corporation and a related company effective as of October 25, 1996. Ronald H. Braam will continue as President of Manufacturers Chemicals and no changes in management are anticipated. James G. Lane, Jr., Chairman and CEO of Synalloy said he "is excited about the opportunities for synergies between Manufacturers Chemicals and the Blackman-Uhler Chemical Division because the product lines are complimentary but do not overlap." Manufacturers Chemicals produces surfactants, defoamers, finishing agents and other specialty chemicals for the textile, paper, metals and chemical industries.
