SYMTEK SYSTEMS INC. REPORTS THIRD QUARTER IN A ROW
WITH GREATER THAN $10 MILLION IN SALES
SAN DIEGO, Feb. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- SymTek Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: SYMK) today announced sales of $10,150,000 and net income of $315,000 ($.20 per share) for the quarter ending Dec. 31, 1991, compared with sales of $6,384,000 and net income of $278,000 ($0.19 per share) for the same quarter of the previous fiscal year, according to Ray Twigg, president.
Sales for the nine months ended Dec. 31, 1991, were $33,835,000 and net income was $462,000 ($0.29 per share), vs. sales of $22,401,000 and net income of $957,000 ($0.64 per share) for the same period of the previous fiscal year.
"This quarter marks the first time in SymTek's history that we have had three consecutive quarters with over $10,000,000 in sales each quarter," Twigg said. "The only other quarters in our history that exceeded $10,000,000 in sales were those ending Dec. 31, 1984, and March 31, 1985.
"While we are pleased with the revenue in the third quarter, net income was impacted by expenses relating to the move to our new building," Twigg added. "With those expenses out of the way, we look forward to continued improvements in our bottom line commensurate with the improvements in revenues."
In October 1991 SymTek moved to a new 110,000-square-foot facility in the Rancho Bernardo area of San Diego. This move consolidated manufacturing, sales, administration and engineering into the same building for the first time in more than five years.
SymTek Systems Inc. manufactures and sells electromechanical handlers that heat or cool integrated circuits to precise temperatures, place them into position for testing and sort them based on test results. The market for the company's products is driven by worldwide capacity increases for semiconductors as well as the continually changing packages that house the integrated circuits.
