SYMIX SYSTEMS, INC. REPORTS RESULTS FOR FOURTH QUARTER AND FISCAL YEAR END

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Aug. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Symix Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: SYMX) today announced results for its fourth quarter and fiscal year ended June 30, 1993.
The company reported record revenues for the year ended June 30, 1993 of $30.0 million compared to $26.7 million in 1992, an increase of 12 percent. The increase, however, fell short of the company's expectations, and resulted in a decrease in net income and earnings per common share from $1.3 million ($0.46 per share) in 1992 to $713,000 ($0.25 per share) in 1993. The company's financial position was further strengthened in 1993 as cash flow from operations was $3.1 million in 1993 up from $2.3 million in 1992.
The company reported net revenues of $7.6 million for the fourth quarter of 1993 compared to $7.8 million for the same period in 1992. Net income for the fourth quarter was $131,000 ($0.05 per share), compared to $352,000 ($0.12 per share) in the prior year.
Larry J. Fox, Symix's chairman and chief executive officer, stated, "1993 has been a transition year for Symix. While our results were positive, they were less than our expectations. Although the weakened economy contributed to the shortfall, we were not satisfied with our performance. None the less, during 1993, we made significant investments and changes in our infrastructure, our product and our business practices which better positioned Symix for the future. We are convinced that these investments coupled with our strong financial position, will provide Symix the opportunity for long term growth and success."
