SYMETRICS INDUSTRIES ANNOUNCES CONTRACT AWARD

MELBOURNE, Fla., Nov. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Symetrics Industries, Inc. (NASDAQ: SYMT) has been awarded an additional $9.52 million on its Improved Data Modem (IDM) contract with the Air Force. This increases Symetrics' backlog to over $21.1 million -- a company record.
The Air Force exercised an option for 351 IDMs bringing the total to 692 now under contract. These 351 IDMs were purchased for the upgrade program for the F-16 aircraft previously sold by the U.S. Government to Belgium, Denmark, Netherlands and Norway.
The Air Force anticipates this five-year production contract with Symetrics will surpass the initial estimate of $41 million, since the projected quantity has increased from 1,645 to over 3,000 IDMs. It is anticipated that additional options will be exercised by the Air Force next year after successful completion of the qualification tests, which are scheduled to start in January on Symetrics' first production IDMs.
