 SYMANTEC ANNOUNCES NETWORK INSTALLATION FOR NORTON UTILITIES
 FOR MACINTOSH AND SYMANTEC ANTIVIRUS FOR MACINTOSH
 CUPERTINO, Calif., Oct. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Symantec Corp. (NASDAQ: SYMC) today announced network installation for Norton Utilities for Macintosh version 2.0 and Symantec Antivirus for Macintosh (SAM) version 3.0. This new technology enables network managers to quickly install Norton Utilities for Macintosh and SAM on select computers or across entire LANS and WANS. It can also be used to distribute software updates including new virus definitions.
 "This technology comes as a direct response to corporate client requests," said Rod Turner, Symantec's executive vice president of the Peter Norton Group. "It provides network managers with a fast and easy way to update all nodes with the latest virus information and Macintosh utility upgrades." The technology will enable network managers to select the programs they want to install.
 Symantec's network installation is provided with SAM and Norton Utilities for Macintosh for site-licensed customers with maintenance agreements. Information on the new features can be obtained by calling 800-441-7234, toll free.
