The Norton AntiVirus for NetWare provides unobtrusive virus protection identifying 100 percent of the NCSA libraries (over 2000 known virus signatures) while also detecting the activity of unknown viruses. Since the NLM was specifically designed for the NetWare server, the program places less of a load on the network system while still providing real-time protection against virus intrusion. LAN administrators will appreciate the ease in which servers can be configured and updated, the customizable virus alert options, and the complete reporting capabilities.
"PC networks are becoming increasingly complex in the number of servers, the mix of workstation platforms and types of processing required," said Ken Felderstein, Symantec's business unit director for the Peter Norton Group. "Norton AntiVirus for NetWare is the only solution to offer continuous virus protection that matches the network's diverse mix and volume of computing traffic."
 Complete Protection Across the Network
Norton AntiVirus for NetWare provides an easy, reliable solution for antivirus protection across the network. The program is the only NLM solution to scan DOS, Windows and Macintosh files on the network as well as offer NetWare 3.x and NetWare 4.x compatibility. The Norton AntiVirus for NetWare scans all files as they are accessed to and from the server, so even files from unprotected workstations are protected. For a complete enterprise-wide antivirus solution, the administrator can expand to The Norton AntiVirus workstation products ensuring all files are being monitored on both the client and server level.
 Fast, Unobtrusive Virus Protection
The Norton AntiVirus for NetWare actively scans for over 2,000 known virus signatures as well as unknown virus signature activity and includes patent-pending NOVI technology, the most effective processes available for detecting new viruses and viral classes. The Norton AntiVirus for NetWare offers unobtrusive protection by using efficient time intervals and allows other critical NLMs residing on the server to operate even when a virus is detected. In those network environments where CPU utilization is critical, the administrator can easily customize the program's use of CPU utilization, allowing key applications to operate efficiently while still maintaining anti-virus protection. The program ensures minimal effect on server performance by featuring a 32-bit scanning engine, the fastest scan engine available.
 Centralized Control
Norton AntiVirus for NetWare offers administrators easy, centralized control and customization of their antivirus program. Designed to offer flexibility as well as save time and effort in configuration -- all features of the program can be configured or updated either remotely or directly. The administrator is offered options of real-time, immediate or scheduled scanning. For scheduled scanning, additional options include the ability to customize the scanning schedule for specific dates and times. Scanning of incoming and outgoing files can be focused by server, volume, directory or file type.
 Alert & Reporting Options
The Norton AntiVirus for NetWare offers administrators quick and easy access to vital information with a full range of alert and reporting options. Real-time monitoring includes the ability to customize Norton AntiVirus for NetWare to broadcast messages to all or specified users of an infected file as well as alert via pages and electronic mail. Efficient, user-controllable reporting includes activity logs of all scanning activities, infection logs of all identified virus infections and full filtering for specified events.
