SWITCHING CAPABILITY ADDED TO DID INTERFACE FROM NICOLLET

SWITCHING CAPABILITY ADDED TO DID INTERFACE FROM NICOLLET
MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Nicollet Technologies Inc. has introduced a version of its popular DigiTrap(TM) system that not only converts DID trunks to analog lines, but offers switching features that allow calls to be transferred to internal stations or conferenced to outside lines.
The new Model PBX-1015 is designed for applications in which inbound DID calls are being handled by a voice or fax processing system that receives the DID digits from the DigiTrap and prompts the caller accordingly. By performing a hookflash, the system can put the caller on hold and transfer/conference the call to another phone number. Possible destinations include an operator position, a fax machine, a computer modem, or virtually any outside phone number, from the caller's home to an overseas business.
The same voice processing ports can be used to receive inbound calls as well as initiate outbound calls, improving overall port utilization. So message notification and delivery can be accomplished without dedicating expensive voice processing ports or phone lines.
The DigiTrap PBX-1015 is a flexible, modular product that can start with two DID trunks and grow incrementally to 24 or more. The service provider can offer music or announcements to callers on hold, can monitor call traffic through the integral SMDR output port, and can even customize the switching functions with an optional console.
Prices start at $2,590 for a complete system equipped to handle two DID trunks, four CO lines and 16 station ports. Customers with an existing DigiTrap system can upgrade to a 6 line/16 station switching module for under $1,000. Larger models are available for applications requiring as many as 24 DID trunks.
Nicollet Technologies manufactures and markets DigiTrap telephone line interfaces that convert DID and E&M trunks to analog lines, as well as capture Dial Pulse, DTMF and MF digits for use by voice and fax processing equipment.
