SWISSAIR INCREASES LOS ANGELES-SWITZERLAND FLIGHTS WITH DAILY NONSTOP MD-11 SERVICE

 SWISSAIR INCREASES LOS ANGELES-SWITZERLAND FLIGHTS
 WITH DAILY NONSTOP MD-11 SERVICE
NEW YORK, March 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Swissair announced today that it will offer nonstop McDonnell-Douglas MD-11 service from Los Angeles to Zurich and Geneva on a daily basis -- effective with the commencement of its summer schedule on March 29.
The daily MD-11 service from the Swiss national carrier's West Coast gateway is an increase of two flights per week. Swissair's summer '92 schedule provides travelers with the option of four weekly nonstop flights from Los Angeles to Zurich and three weekly nonstop flights to Geneva, with continuing service to Zurich. Passengers will now have more opportunities to make direct connections from either of the two Swiss gateways.
"Swissair is the only carrier to offer nonstop flights between Los Angeles and Switzerland," says Peter Luethi, Swissair general manager for North America. "This fact, coupled with our increase to daily service demonstrates our firm belief in the strength and development of the market potential in California."
Swissair's version of the MD-11 trijet -- which has replaced the DC-10 -- is noted for its passenger-friendly, state-of-the-art inflight features, including new seats in all three classes of service, larger overhead baggage bins and movie screens with enhanced picture brilliance. Among the highlights for Business Class travelers are a spacious 2-2-2 seating configuration, swivel trays, convenient armrest controls -- and overall comfort.
