SWISHER INTERNATIONAL SELLS EIGHT FRANCHISES IN FOUR NEW TERRITORIES; RECEIVES DEPOSITS TO CLOSE FIVE MORE FRANCHISES IN FIRST QUARTER

 CHARLOTTE, N.C., Nov. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Swisher International Inc. (NASDAQ: SWSH, SWSHW) announced today that it has sold eight franchises and entered four new geographic territories in the fiscal fourth quarter ended Oct. 31, 1993. Furthermore, the company has received deposits on five additional franchises, which are expected to close early in the first quarter of fiscal 1994.
 Within the United States, the company operates franchises in 31 states and opened its first international franchise in Toronto. "We expect to have the remaining U.S. states under franchise territorial agreements within the next 18 months and are moving forward with our plans to expand the business internationally," said Pat Swisher, president and chief executive officer.
 "The interest level we are seeing in our unique franchise concept has never been higher," said Swisher. "System-wide franchisee sales grew by 46 percent over the past 12 months."
 Swisher noted that the company's customer base continues to expand in the range of 500-1,000 per month as the public's concern regarding the spread of infectious disease in public establishments continues to increase.
 Financial results for the fourth quarter and the year ended Oct. 31, 1993 are expected to be released early in December 1993.
 Swisher International is the only publicly held franchiser of hygiene services and products. The company markets its products and services principally through 68 franchises and two subsidiaries to a wide range of businesses in 31 states. Swisher currently services more than 17,000 customers ranging from small businesses to major chains including McDonald's, Burger King, Pizza Hut, Wendy's, Texaco and K-Mart.
