SWENSON/FALKER ASSOCIATES INC. ACQUIRES WORD OF MOUTH
 MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Swenson/Falker Associates Inc.,

a public relations firm specializing in financial and investor relations, announced today its acquisition of Word of Mouth, a company that specializes in media relations and publicity. The combination will enlarge Swenson/Falker's capabilities, enabling it to offer a broader range of public relations counsel and services to current and new clients.
The company's name will be changed to Swenson Falker Eilertsen Inc. to reflect the addition of Susan Eilertsen, owner of Word of Mouth, as a principal of the firm.
Swenson/Falker was founded by Curt Swenson and Jack Falker in 1987. Swenson was formerly chairman of Dorn Swenson Meyer Inc., Minneapolis, executive vice president of Adams & Rinehart, Inc., New York, and senior vice president and treasurer of Padilla and Speer, Inc., Minneapolis. He has counseled large and small corporate clients for over 20 years on a variety of issues, including investor relations, marketing and public affairs matters. Falker has more than 20 years experience in corporate finance and financial relations with Fortune 500 companies as treasurer of International Multifoods Corp., Minneapolis, vice president and treasurer of Chrysler Financial Corp., Detroit, and in public relations for Chrysler Corp.
"In less than five years, we've become recognized as the region's premier investor relations firm, particularly for mid-size companies," Swenson said. "We've made a commitment to serve our clients exclusively with senior consultants, and the investor relations side of the business has increasingly required all of our time. At the same time, our clients' needs for general public relations services were growing. We believe the addition of the skills represented by Word of Mouth will enable us to meet those needs while maintaining the high level of service our clients expect."
Word of Mouth was founded by Susan Eilertsen in 1986. Eilertsen has focused on long-term public relations programs, publicity campaigns, and television, radio and press coverage for her clients. She has extensive experience in new product launches and the creation of special events. She returned to her native Minnesota to start her own business after 10 years in New York as a publicist and publicity director for major publishing houses, including St. Martin's Press, G.P. Putnam, the Crown Publishing Group and Random House. Her associate, Nancy Meyers, a former marketing consultant to small business and executive director of the Metropolitan Minneapolis YMCA, joins her at Swenson Falker Eilertsen Inc.
The firm is expanding its headquarters at Suite 850 in the TCF Tower, 121 S. 8th St., Minneapolis. The telephone number is 612-371-0000.
