 SWEET FACTORY APPOINTS PRESIDENT
 SAN DIEGO, July 31 /PRNewswire/ -- T. Robert (Bob) Bell has been


named president and chief operating officer of Sweet Factory, an innovative retail candy store chain chaired by Edgar Berner.
 Bell was formerly the vice president of Stores & Operations for Gapkids, a division of Gap Inc. While at Gap, Bell also held the positions of vice president of personnel and vice president of operations.
 Prior to Gap Inc., Bell served as president and chief executive officer for Monica Scott.
 Sweet Factory plans to add 20 new stores to its exclusive candy chain in the remainder of 1992 and open 50 stores throughout the United States in 1993.
