SWAT team kills siege man of 107; SHOOTING.

A 107-year-old man was killed by a police SWAT team after a siege at his home.

Gun-toting Monroe Isadore fired at cops who surrounded his bedroom and shot tear gas and stun grenades inside after being called to an aggravated assault.

The police firearms team stormed the room, where he was barricaded in, and gunned him down when he fired his handgun.

Isadore was believed to be among a small number of men who have reached the age of 107 in the US.

Police were called to his home in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, by two other residents who claimed they had been threatened with a gun.

When the officers identified themselves Isadore shot at them through the door.

A police report said negotiators failed to persuade him to give himself up so the SWAT team was called. They inserted a camera into the room and sprung into action after seeing he had a gun.
