SWACHA President and CEO Dennis Simmons Appointed to 2011-2012 ASAE Government Relations Section Council.
“ASAE is a valuable resource for nonprofit organizations, so I am proud to be appointed as a council member for 2011,” said Simmons. “I hope my involvement not only improves the advocacy efforts of the association and members of ASAE, but also is a direct benefit for members of SWACHA.”
ASAE is a membership organization of more than 22,000 association executives and industry partners representing more than 11,000 organizations. The Government Relations Section Council, made up of 18 to 25 volunteers appointed by ASAE leadership, is designed to guide ASAE in educating its members on government relations and public policy through the creation of educational programming and other materials.
Simmons will begin his one-year term August 6, 2011 at ASAE's Annual Meeting and Exposition in St. Louis. His duties will include the implementation of the 2012 ASAE work plan, recommending activities designed for ASAE members in the government relations profession, and identifying the future needs of ASAE and its members.
Simmons is also currently Chair of the National Automated Clearing House Association (NACHA) Government Relations Advisory Group, the Immediate Past Chair of NACHA's Electronic Check Council And a former member of NACHA's Board of Directors.
