SUSAN DYER ELECTED TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE APARTMENT ASSOCIATION OF ORANGE COUNTY (AAOC)

 NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Jan. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Susan Sirota Dyer, 36, director of asset management for Irvine Apartment Communities Inc., (NYSE: IAC) has been elected to the board of directors of the Apartment Association of Orange County (AAOC).
 Dyer oversees all the property management firms hired by Irvine Apartment Communities Inc. (IAC) to conduct day-to-day management and maintenance of IAC's 43 apartment communities, containing more than 11,000 units, on the Irvine Ranch.
 IAC is one of the largest apartment owners in Orange County and in December was taken public by The Irvine Co. as a real estate investment trust. It is traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol IAC.
 Dyer began her property management career with The Irvine Co. in 1979 and worked from 1985-88 as a property manager with Arnel Management Co. in Costa Mesa. She returned to The Irvine Co. in 1988. She is one of IAC's senior woman executives and the fourth woman member of AAOC's 19-member board of directors.
 A member of the Institute of Real Estate Management and a Certified Property Manager, Dyer has a degree in communication studies from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
 In 1992, Dyer was named Regional Property Manager of the Year by the AAOC.
 The AAOC represents the rental housing industry in Orange County. Its 3,000 members own or manage more than 150,000 rental units in the county. AAOC provides informational services, education and training to its members and the public.
