Local Internet Service Provider Offers 10 Hours Free Access

MINNEAPOLIS, March 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Interactive Computer Corp. -- a local online and Internet Service Provider -- is making Twin Cities computer users an unprecedented offer: a free and permanent e-mail address plus 10 hours free Internet access to anyone wanting to surf the World Wide Web.

The offer provides unlimited messages from the personal e-mail address free of charge and forever. For those wishing to continue their Internet access after the free 10 hour trial period, the company is offering Internet access for as low as $8.95 per month.

"This is the first offer for free Internet e-mail that has been made in the Twin Cities," said ICC President Michael Newell. "In addition, we are offering anyone with a computer and a modem 10 free hours to explore the Internet and CyberCity -- ICC's local online entertainment service."

Newell said electronic mail (e-mail) is the most popular application of the Internet, the worldwide network of computers that has seen exponential growth within the past year. By having an e-mail address, a person has the ability to send and receive e-mail to anyone on any major online service or the Internet.

New computer users on the ICC system can continue to use their new e-mail address even after completing the 10 hour free trial period. "Your new e-mail account is free and forever," said Newell.

"From our perspective, it doesn't make any sense not to give away free e-mail accounts," said Jim Williams, the company's technology and operating officer. "We want to connect people to the Internet. This is a way for everyone to not only get a free and permanent E-mail account, but also get 10 free hours access to the Internet to check out the various features of the net. If you have a PC, a modem and a phone line, we can connect you," Williams said.

Computer users are asked to call 612-924-8800 with their computer modem and follow the easy instructions. The service is currently available only for DOS, Windows and Windows95 users. Macintosh service is expected in the near future.

In addition to providing local Internet access, Interactive Computer Corp. offers a number of other computer online services: World Wide Web site design and construction, operation of the Cyber City entertainment system plus private online communication networks for companies. ICC can be reached at www.iacc.com or 612-926-4001 for local support and free installation disks.
