SUPERSTAR MICHAEL JACKSON'S 'DANGEROUS TOUR' CARGO
                   A THRILLER FOR FEDERAL EXPRESS
Company Says Singer's Tour Equipment Marks
Largest Single Shipment in Firm's History
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., June 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Michael Jackson once again made the record books on Saturday, June 20, when Federal Express, the international overnight shipping firm, flew nearly 125 tons of the singer's "Dangerous Tour" set and equipment from Los Angeles to Frankfurt, Germany. That amount, according to company spokespersons, marks the largest "single vendor" shipment in the firm's 20-year history.
Federal Express, which utilized a Series 200 747, was awarded the monumental assignment after British and U.S. authorities said "nyet" to Jackson's plans to use Russia's AN124, the world's largest operating aircraft. Despite Jackson's record-setting load, a second plane was needed to transport additional equipment which could not fit into the Series 200 747, the largest shipping craft used by Federal Express.
Jack Layton, manager of International Operations, says Jackson's record will be a difficult one to top. "This is the largest move of this type that we have ever done. We moved one of the major circuses once, and that was a huge undertaking, but we've never put 243,000 pounds of equipment on an airplane. No doubt about it, this one was special."
Jackson's 32-city European leg of his worldwide "Dangerous Tour" begins on June 27 in Munich, Germany.
