SUNY health science building completed.

The Eggers Group Architects, P.C., announced the completion of the Health Science Education Building on the campus of the State University of New York Health Science Center in Brooklyn, New York. The eight-floor, 260,000-square-foot, $38 million project, which was designed by the firm, represents the implementation of the first of eight phases of a comprehensive master plan also designed by The Eggers Group.

Among the many uses housed in the new facility are teaching laboratories for both the School of Medicine and the Graduate School, academic and administrative spaces for the College of Health Related Professions, a self-contained facility for the School of Nursing, which includes a simulated intensive care unit, a 360,000-volume library and a subdividable 500-seat auditorium. The new building is attached to the existing Basic Science Building which is used for research and faculty offices. Together these structures form the main educational facility on campus.
