SUNOCO'S NEW FLEET CARD SOON TO BE AVAILABLE

 PHILADELPHIA, July 7 /PRNewswire/ -- "After test marketing in New Jersey, Sunoco's new Fleet Management Program will be widely available in September," Sun Company's Jim Buck, manager of Commercial Fleet Marketing, announced today.
 "The heart of our new program is the SunTrak(SM) Fleet Reporting System, which offers three reports to fleet managers," Buck noted. "The reports detail vehicle, driver and card number; fuel quantity and type; odometer reading and miles per gallon calculation, and other purchases made for vehicle maintenance."
 The reports are:
 The Vehicle Analysis Report, which presents the
 information by vehicle, for month and year to date;
 The Driver Analysis Report, which allows similar
 information to be organized by driver for month and year
 to date;
 The Commercial Credit Card Statement, which shows a
 summary of purchases by category, as well as by time,
 date, and location of each transaction.
 Buck said that the SunTrak system, normally $10 per month per account, will be free until Jan. 1, 1994. "After that date, the low fee, coupled with Sun's fleet fuel discount, will insure the card's competitiveness in the market. For those Fleet Card customers who do not wish to receive the analysis reports, there is no charge for the Commercial Credit Card Statement, but the discount and other SunTrak options do not apply," he said.
 "The SunTrak system ultimately cuts down on paperwork and accounting time, while providing fleet managers with the financial and operational information needed to efficiently run their fleets," said Buck. He also added that Sun has a strong corporate and consumer credit card base in both the upper Midwest and the Northeast, and believes that the Fleet Card is not only a logical extension of Sun's program, but one that will allow Sun to better serve its customers.
 In November 1992 Sun's Senior Vice President for Marketing and Logistics, Dave Knoll, reaffirmed Sun's intention to continue to maintain and improve its marketing facilities in the upper Midwest. Furthermore, Sun recently reaffirmed its position as a major marketer in the Northeast by becoming the sole operator of all service stations on the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Turnpikes, and the predominant marketer on the New York Throughway.
 Sun Company, Inc. (NYSE: SUN), headquartered in Philadelphia, operates five domestic refineries and is engaged principally in retail gasoline marketing in the Northeastern quadrant of the United States, petrochemical sales worldwide, and the operation of domestic pipelines and terminals. Sun also produces crude oil and natural gas internationally and is 55 percent owner of Suncor, a fully integrated Canadian oil company.
