 ROCKFORD, Ill., Dec. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Sundstrand Corporation


(NYSE: SNS) announced today that its board of directors has elected J.P. Bolduc and Gerald Grinstein as directors of Sundstrand to fill vacancies resulting from an increase in the number of directors from 10 to 12, and to serve for terms expiring at the annual meeting of stockholders in 1992.
 Bolduc, 52, is president and chief operating officer of W.R. Grace & Co., with responsibility for all of Grace's specialty chemicals, health care, energy, and specialty operations. He has served as chief operating officer for President Reagan's Private Sector Survey on Cost Control in the Federal Government, a private sector group of 161 chief executive officers and over 2,000 private sector business leaders studying efficiency of government operations and identifying opportunities for cost savings and revenue generation (1982-1984). Prior to that, he served as vice president-partner with the international management and technical consulting firm of Booz-Allen & Hamilton Inc. (1977-1982); and as a Presidential appointee as assistant secretary for the U.S. Department of Agriculture under Presidents Nixon and Ford.
 Grinstein, 59, chairman and chief executive officer, Burlington Northern Inc., Fort Worth, Texas, has also held a wide variety of positions in both the public and private sectors. He served as counsel to the Merchant Marine and Transportation Subcommittee and the U.S. Senate Commerce Committee (1958-1963); chief counsel to the U.S. Senate Commerce Committee (1963-1967); administrative assistant to U.S. Senator Warren G. Magnuson (1967-1969); partner in the law firm of Preston, Thorgrimson, Ellis & Holman in Seattle (1969); chairman of the board of Western Air Lines, Inc. (1983); and chief executive officer of Western Air Lines, Inc. and elected to Burlington Northern Inc. board (1985).
