SUNDSTRAND COMPLETES SALE OF DATA CONTROL DIVISION TO ALLIEDSIGNAL

 ROCKFORD, Ill., Nov. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Sundstrand Corporation (NYSE: SNS), Rockford, and AlliedSignal Inc. (NYSE: ALD), Morris Township, N.J., today announced the completion of the purchase by
AlliedSignal of Sundstrand's Data Control division. The purchase price of $195 million resulted in a significant non-recurring financial gain for Sundstrand. The proceeds will be used primarily for the repayment of debt.
 AlliedSignal, with 1992 sales of $12,042 million, is an advanced manufacturing company serving customers worldwide with aerospace and automotive products, chemicals, fibers, plastics and advanced materials. AlliedSignal's aerospace operations, headquartered in Torrance, Calif., manufacture a variety of aerospace components and systems, including avionics for general aviation, commercial aviation and military aircraft.
 Sundstrand Corporation, with 1992 sales from continuing operations of $1,479.1 million, is an international market leader in the design, manufacture and sale of a variety of proprietary, technology-based components and subsystems for aerospace (57 percent of 1992 sales) and industrial (43 percent of 1992 sales) markets. Sundstrand's common stock is listed on the New York, Midwest and Pacific stock exchanges under the symbol SNS.
