SUNDAY TV: HIGHLIGHTS.

SEEING RED (ITV, 8pm)

BUSY actress Sarah Lancashire has been proving just how versatile she is with top dramas like Where The Heart Is and Clocking Off. Now she stars as 70s party girl and Family At War actress Coral Atkins who set up her own children's home to help highly disturbed and abused children.

"I don't feel I'm doing an impersonation of Coral, I'm just representing her story," says Sarah.

"It was certainly one of the most difficult roles I've had to play. It was mentally draining because of the subject matter, although I don't regret taking on the part, not for a moment."

Coral herself is delighted that the film will highlight the work that is close to her heart. She says: "My hope is that when people see the film they might begin to have second thoughts about the future of child- care."

MONARCH OF THE GLEN (BBC 1, 8pm)

SUSAN HAMPSHIRE says she loves playing a batty wife in Monarch Of the Glen - especially with Richard Briers for a husband.

"He's an absolute darling and very brilliant," she declares. "He has a great ability to be both incredibly funny at the drop of a hat and very toughing so your heart goes out to him. It's such a wonderful combination of emotions."

Susan says it was also a plus working in the beautiful Highland setting and giggles: "I felt I was drunk because the air was so pure."
