SUN-TIMES FEATURES TARGETS NATIONAL, MIDWEST NEWSPAPER EDITORS

CHICAGO, April 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Sun-Times Features added two columnists to its group of syndicated packages for national and Midwest editor subscribers. The two national offerings, aimed at the business and consumer pages, are:
-- A weekly financial advice column by Terry Savage, financial
 advice columnist
-- "Starting Over," a weekly column for seniors by Ray Sons,
 former Sun-Times sports editor
In addition to the national syndicated packages, Sun-Times Features offers five packages to Midwest newspaper editor subscribers.
"We're taking a modest step to try to fill a Midwest editorial void." said Tom Neri, president of Sun-Times Features. "Writers and artists for our feature service will emphasize the interests -- sports, politics, lifestyles and entertainment -- of Chicago, Illinois and the Midwest."
One package option is available to Illinois newspapers:
-- Editorial cartoons and columns covering the Chicago and Illinois political scene; these columns are offered 1-3 times per week.
Illinois and other Midwest newspaper editors may select from among the following packages:
-- Midwest Sports - 11 features per week
-- Midwest Features - 10 features per week
-- Custom Package - any eight items or more
 -- Midwest Sports/Features - 21 features and columns, 1-2 times per
 week
"In packaging the most widely read features, I believe we're providing editors around the Midwest with material that is more timely and relevant than they can get anywhere else," said Don Campbell, executive director of Sun-Times Features.
