SUN TELEVISION AND APPLIANCES, INC. ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL EXPANSION

 COLUMBUS, Ohio, Aug. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Sun Television and Appliances, Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: SNTV) announced its intention today to further expand into New York State by entering the Syracuse, N.Y. market area next year. During the remainder of the current year Sun T.V.'s initial entrance into Western New York will be accomplished with the planned opening of two stores in the Rochester area and three stores in the Buffalo area. A fourth store for the Buffalo metropolitan market is planned for 1994. In addition, Sun T.V. has signed a lease for distribution facilities in the Rochester metropolitan area which is centrally located and will service all of these new markets.
 Also, during the remainder of this year Sun will open a store in Johnstown, Pa. and a replacement store in Columbus, Ohio. With these planned store openings Sun T.V. expects to have 38 stores operating at the end of its current fiscal year.
 Sun T.V. is a specialty retailer of high quality, brand name consumer electronic, home appliance and home office products in 32 stores in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Sun T.V.'s common stock is traded over the counter and is quoted on the NASDAQ National Market System under the symbol SNTV.
