SUN SHINES ON TUI WEB SALES; your money.

Byline: CLINTON MANNING

HOLIDAY giant TUI Travel says it has seen a pick-up in internet sales during the recent riots. The group, which owns Thomson Holidays, was forced to shut up to 50 of its 800 travel agents due to the trouble but made up business online.

Boss Peter Long said: "Hopefully this whole situation will calm down in the near future, but we'll have to wait and see." " His comments came as he said the group was on course to hit City profit forecasts of around pounds 470million.

That will pile even more pressure on rival Thomas Cook, which recently parted company with boss Manny Fontenla-Novoa after slashing its profit forecasts by pounds 60m to pounds 320m.
