SULCUS COMPUTER ESTABLISHES DIVISION TO SERVICE HOSPITALITY

SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS OF GAMING INDUSTRY; NAMES SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT
GREENSBURG, Pa., Sept. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Sulcus Computer Corporation (AMEX: SUL) today announced the formation of a new division to service the hospitality software needs of the world-wide gaming industry, and the opening of an office in Las Vegas, Nev. Roy Student has been named senior vice president, Gaming Operations for the Sulcus Hospitality Group, "with the responsibility for penetrating the world- wide gaming industry with all Sulcus Hospitality Group products," Jeffrey S. Ratner, chairman and CEO, stated.
Prior to joining Sulcus to establish this division, Mr. Student was Divisional Business Manager of the Hospitality Group for Siemens - Nixdorf since November 1990, and was responsible for developing and overseeing SNI's Hospitality Automation Division in North America. From 1989 to November 1990 he was president of Dirson Enterprises, a large, diversified gaming communications company. In 1987, he became president of Intermark Gaming, a public company dealing in turnkey systems for the gaming industry. Prior to that, he spent 18 years with General Instruments in various capacities including vice president of sales and marketing and vice president of Gaming Operations.
Paul Hammar, president of the Sulcus Hospitality Group, said that "in the United States, the creation of new gaming-based establishments far outpaces the rest of the hospitality industry in growth, with activity in Colorado, Nevada, Illinois, Louisiana, up and down the Mississippi River near the locations of moored riverboats and even on Indian reservations. U.S. gaming revenue has risen to a record $26.7 billion in 1991 and has increased 142 percent since 1982. This type of dynamic growth creates an ideal market opportunity for Sulcus products."
Sulcus Computer Corporation is a leading developer of automated systems for the hospitality, legal and real estate markets. Sulcus Hospitality systems are in operation in more than an estimated 4,500 hotels, resorts, restaurants and country clubs in six continents. Customers include such names as Sheraton, Marriott, Radisson, ANA, Embassy Suites, Nikko, Holiday Inn, Chi Chi's, Four Seasons, Canadian Pacific, Interstate, Clubhouse Inns, Sfuzzis, Regent and Novatel.
