SULCUS COMPUTER CORPORATION OF GREENSBURG, PA.,
TRADES UP FROM NASDAQ TO AMERICAN STOCK EXCHANGE
NEW YORK, May 20 /PRNewswire/ -- American Stock Exchange announced that Sulcus Computer Corporation of Greensburg, Pa., began trading its common stock today. Trading under ticker symbol SUL, the stock opened on 5,300 shares at 6-1/8.
The company's common stock previously traded on NASDAQ National Market System under ticker symbol SULC.
Jeffrey S. Ratner, chairman and chief executive officer of Sulcus, said, "We are pleased to have achieved this important milestone for the company. Listing on the Amex will provide our shareholders with better market quality. Studies show that the efficient auction market system assures investors of getting the best price being offered by any market participant, not just those of dealers. All trading is concentrated on the Exchange trading floor and an Exchange specialist is responsible for maintaining an orderly market at all times. Regulatory oversight can, therefore, be more exacting and reliable than is possible in the widely diversified over the counter market."
Sulcus provides all computer hardware, software, training and support to companies automating their business lines. According to the company, this turnkey approach to marketing microcomputers provides an effective and inexpensive means to automate an entire business.
The company operates through four subsidiaries in the real estate, hospitality and legal industries. It provides automated information handling, word processing, billing and accounting to a wide range of customers which include hotels, banks and law firms.
The American Stock Exchange is the second largest securities exchange in the United States and the largest American exchange with significant markets in both equities and derivative products. Today, it is an international institution on the cutting edge of trading floor technology, new product development and expansion into world markets through system linkages and globally traded products.
