SULCUS COMPUTER CORP. SQUIRREL UNIT CHOSEN AS PRIMARY POINT-OF-SALE SYSTEM FOR WESTIN HOTELS & RESORTS WORLDWIDE

GREENSBURG, Pa., Sept. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Sulcus Computer Corp. (AMEX: SUL) today announced that the Squirrel Point-of-Sale (POS) System has been chosen by Westin Hotels & Resorts as the primary POS system of choice for the food and beverage facilities of its 73 properties throughout the world. Squirrel Companies, Inc., a member of Sulcus' Hospitality Group, was chosen from among seven developers that applied for this distinction.
Reasons cited by Westin for the selection of Squirrel include:
-- The extensive product knowledge demonstrated by Squirrel employees.
-- The Squirrel "hand-held" computer utilizes the same touch-screen user interface as all other Squirrel products, eliminating the need to retrain staff.
 -- 24-hour 1-800 support line.
-- The size, appearance, and flexible mounting options of the "flat- screen" terminal.
-- "Separate course firing" enables servers to enter an entire order and then "fire" course orders to accommodate the customer's pace.
Frank Morrisroe, Sulcus Hospitality Group's president, stated, "Westin's selection of Squirrel strongly affirms Sulcus' ability to meet the POS requirements of major hotel chains with a global presence."
An acknowledged innovator, Squirrel introduced both "touch-screen" technology and the "flat-screen" terminal design to the hospitality industry. Besides POS software, Squirrel offers modules for credit card processing, food and beverage inventory, inventory purchasing and receiving, and labor cost control and scheduling, as well as a hotel interface to property management systems and a module specifically designed for private clubs.
