STUDENTS RECEIVE $40,000 IN TOTAL SCHOLARSHIPS.

LANCASTER - Antelope Valley College students received scholarships totaling approximately $40,000 during the college's annual Scholarship Convocation.

Community organizations, businesses and individuals funded the 107 scholarships, which were presented during the gathering May 17 in the college's Fine Arts Quadrangle. A luncheon followed.

Scholarship sponsors and recipients include:

American Association of University Women: Maria Arjona-Perez and JoAnn Estridge.

American Legion Auxiliary Tri-City Unit 771: Damien Seals.

American Legion Auxiliary Unit 311: Matthew Arnold.

R. Gregg Anderson Endowment Scholarship: John Sweeney.

Antelope Valley California Association of Retired Teachers: Leah Cattermole, Karrie Fuller, Jeffrey Woolford, Ryan Woolford and Zachary Schroeder, and Dean Russell Scholarship recipients Maria Arjona-Perez and David Gonzales.
