STUBBS TO BREAK GUINNESS RECORD FOR WORLD'S LARGEST COCKTAIL; PROCEEDS DONATED TO CHARITY

NEW YORK, March 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Get ready, Guinness: the world record for largest cocktail is about to be broken by Stubbs Australian Rum, at the Long Island Bartenders' Ball, Monday, March 15, at 6:00 p.m., at the Marriott Wind Watch Hotel (1717 Motor Parkway, Hauppauge, N.Y.).
The Paddington Corporation, a sponsor of the event, will provide 25 gallons of premium Stubbs Rum which, when mixed with 25 gallons of Triple-Sec, 10 gallons of Grenadine, 720 gallons of sour mix, and 720 gallons of lemon and orange juice, will not only become the world's largest cocktail, but the largest "Hurricane."
Organized by the Long Island Restaurateurs' Tours Charities, the Bartenders' Ball is expected to attract over 800 people and raise more than $100,000 to benefit two charities: Hope House Ministries and the Long Island Multiple Sclerosis Society.
A specially designed container, measuring eight feet tall and six feet wide, has been created to house the enormous drink. Plenty of tasters will be on hand to verify, in accordance with Guinness rules, that the cocktail be "totally palatable."
According to "The Guinness Book of Records," the current world's largest cocktail totals 1,550 gallons. To beat that record, the Stubbs cocktail will contain no less than 1,660 gallons.
Hope House Ministries is a not-for-profit agency dedicated to providing a creative network of residential care and counseling assistance to troubled youth, individuals and families in crisis, from the New York metropolitan region. "We are grateful to the Paddington Corporation and Stubbs Rum for their commitment to the growing number of people at risk and for generously working towards improving the quality of life for all," stated Father Francis Pizzarelli, founder and executive director of Hope House Ministries.
The Long Island Multiple Sclerosis Society has also been an important beneficiary of the Bartenders' Ball, for many years.
"We're helping to raise funds for two important charities and, at the same time, having fun with the event," explained Julie Little, Stubbs international brand director. Commemorative glasses imprinted with "I survived the world's largest hurricane" will be sold at the fundraiser for $3.00, with proceeds being donated to charity.
While most rums derive from molasses, Stubbs is made from pure sugar cane juice from Queensland, Australia. The piercingly dry, 85 proof premium, white rum is an exclusive import of the Paddington Corporation.
