STUART ENTERTAINMENT AWARDED MAJOR CONTRACT TO PRODUCE ELECTRONIC
BINGO SYSTEMS FOR MANITOBA LOTTERIES' ULTRAMODERN NEW FACILITIES
LITTLETON, Colo., Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Stuart Entertainment Inc. (NASDAQ: STUA) today announced that a wholly owned subsidiary, recently formed to produce Video Lottery Terminal (VLT) systems and other electronic video gaming systems, has been awarded a contract by the Manitoba Lotteries Foundation (MLF) to provide two centralized Electronic Bingo Systems and related equipment.
The contract provides for delivery of two central control units and 280 electronic player stations to the MLF in February 1993. Video King Gaming Systems Inc., the subsidiary of Stuart Entertainment, will produce and deliver the systems and equipment.
The systems and machines will be installed in two new 50,000 square feet Bingo Facilities in Winnipeg, which will be among the most advanced in North America.
The Electronic Bingo System provides Bingo players the opportunity to play a Bingo game electronically on touch-screen terminals while other players continue to play the game in the traditional manner on paper cards. The terminals provide the player access to other games such as Keno, Video Poker or break-open tickets, all in a cashless environment.
Leonard A. Stuart, chairman and chief executive officer, stated that he was elated to receive the contract and added that he considered the award "a major accomplishment which marks the emergence of Video King as an important player in this fast-growing market." In addition, he said, the award "reflects the quality of our products and the reputation we have achieved as the leader in the world of Bingo."
Stuart added that electronic gaming systems open important new opportunities for the company and said that they would add to Stuart Entertainment's "excellent growth pattern." He indicated that the company has achieved record results for the past three years. Since 1988, net income has increased 162 percent. In the first half of 1992, the company reported a sales gain of 28 percent.
Stuart Entertainment manufactures and distributes a complete line of products, primarily associated with the Bingo, electronic gaming and lottery industries.
