STUART ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCES AGREEMENT WITH MAJOR BING0-HALL OPERATOR IN GREAT BRITAIN

LITTLETON, Colo., March 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Stuart Entertainment Inc. (NASDAQ: STUA) has announced that it has concluded an agreement with Mitre Printing Co. Ltd., a major manufacturer of consumable Bingo paper, with its main plant in Nelson, England. The agreement will give the company its first entry into the sizeable British Bingo market.
The agreement provides that Stuart Entertainment, in conjunction with Bingo Press & Specialty Ltd., dba Bazaar & Novelty, a Canadian company of which Leonard A. Stuart is the majority owner, will provide special technology for the new printing presses to be installed in May in England. Stuart Entertainment and Bazaar & Novelty will be responsible for the marketing of the Bingo paper from these presses.
Stuart, chairman and chief executive officer, stated, "We are very enthusiastic about this agreement, which should prove profitable for all parties. The game of Bingo is extremely popular in England and the opportunities for sales of Bingo paper in England are substantial. This agreement will open up the British market -- and Europe as well -- to all Stuart Entertainment products -- including break-open tickets, ink markers and the recently introduced line of random generator Bingo systems and Video Lottery Terminal equipment."
Stuart added that "the European market has great potential. A number of innovations to the game of Bingo have not been introduced in Europe, and Stuart Entertainment and Bazaar & Novelty are now positioned to capitalize on opportunities available in Britain and Europe."
Mitre Printing Co., with more than 100 employees, is a subsidiary of Gala Leisure Ltd., which is the operator of more than 150 successful Bingo clubs in the United Kingdom.
Under existing agreements, Stuart Entertainment and Bazaar & Novelty have agreed to pursue international ventures on a cooperative basis.
Stuart Entertainment, which manufactures and distributes a broad line of fund-raising products associated with the Bingo, electronic gaming and lottery industries, recorded sales in excess of $52,000,000 in 1992. Stuart Entertainment employs more than 600 individuals in its seven United States locations. Stuart Entertainment and Bazaar & Novelty jointly operate a printing plant in Reynosa, Mexico with more than 150 employees.
