STRUCTURAL INSTRUMENTATION INC. APPOINTS NEW CEO

 TUKWILA, Wash., Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Structural Instrumentation Inc. (NASDAQ: SISI) has named Rick A. Beets as the company's new chief executive officer, it was announced today.
 "Rick's extensive manufacturing experience, business acumen and innovative marketing skills will help our company in pursuit of new product development and market expansion goals," said Jerry L. McCauley, Structural Instrumentation's founder and president.
 Beets has 17 years of experience expanding businesses, holding positions in management, business development, manufacturing, marketing and sales. He previously served as a Division Manager for Chicago-based FMC Corp.'s Machinery and Equipment Group.
 Prior to FMC, Beets worked with Colt Industries Inc., in a number of increasingly responsible positions with the Fairbanks Morse Pump Division and the company's France Compressor Products Division. At both Colt and FMC, Beets' responsibilities spanned a range of equipment businesses participating in a diverse group of domestic and international markets.
 Beets earned a bachelor's degree in industrial management from Pittsburg State University and graduated with a master's degree in business administration from Webster University.
 Structural Instrumentation Inc. manufactures micro-processor-based weighing systems for the transportation industry. The primary markets for these systems are operators hauling bulk commodities in the forestry, waste and transport industries.
