 STRIKER/SHAREHOLDERS TO ATTEND KROGER SHAREHOLDER MEETING MAY 21;
 DEMONSTRATION PLANNED OUTSIDE TIGER STADIUM MAY 23
 On Thursday, May 21, buses will carry striker/shareholders from UFCW Local 876 offices in Madison Heights to the annual Kroger shareholder meeting at Cincinnati's Clarion Hotel. The meeting will begin at 10 a.m.
 Buses will arrive before the meeting to handbill, then attend the meeting to ask questions of Kroger executives. After the meeting, buses will go to UFCW Local 1099 in Monroe to meet Kroger workers from Cincinnati and Dayton, whose contracts expire this fall.
 From 4-7 p.m., the Coalition in Support of the Kroger Strikers and its Adopt-A-Store Program will hold rallies at many Kroger stores in the metro area to support the striker/shareholders.
 On Saturday, May 23, at 1:30 p.m., Kroger strikers will handbill and demonstrate outside Tiger Stadium before the game, which is Kroger Glove Day. Tiger fans are asked to "boo" every time they see or hear the Kroger name. The famous Kroger Greedy Pig will also attend the handbill.
 NOTE: At 1 p.m today (May 20), striking Kroger members will begin receiving food donated by UFCW locals across the country. The food will be organized at and distributed from UFCW Local 876, 876 Horace Brown Drive, Madison Heights. This is the Kroger Strikers' Hardship Program, which is part of UFCW's Community Services.
 CONTACT: Leo Jennings or Jill Christoff of UFCW Local 876, 313-585-9671.
