STRACZYNSKI NAMED PRESIDENT OF OF CITIZENS BANK OF MASSACHUSETTS

 PLYMOUTH, Mass., June 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Richard S. Straczynski, executive vice president and head of corporate banking for Citizens Bank of Massachusetts (CBM), has been named president of CBM, it was announced today by Herbert W. Cummings, chairman and chief executive officer of Citizens Bank of Massachusetts. Straczynski succeeds Phillip D. Brown who has resigned to take another banking opportunity.
 Straczynski joined Citizens in January as head of the bank's commercial lending division. A resident of North Easton, Straczynski, 46, has spent most of his professional banking career in Southeastern Massachusetts.
 Prior to joining Citizens, he managed a $400 million commercial loan portfolio as regional president and co-chairman of the regional loan committee for Fleet Bank of Massachusetts. Before Fleet, Straczynski was president and chief executive officer of Bank of New England South, a $1.6 billion affiliate of Bank of New England. He also served as president and chief executive officer of the Plymouth Home National Bank where he began his banking career in 1968.

 Straczynski is a graduate of Northeastern University and has completed the Senior Bank Officers Seminar at the Harvard Business School. He is a director and past president of Old Colony YMCA, a member of the board of the Fuller Art Museum in Brockton, and board member of the Southeastern Economic Development Corporation, which serves Bristol, Plymouth, and Barnstable Counties.
