STONE & WEBSTER TO DOUBLE SIZE OF WORLD'S LARGEST INTAKE

 BOSTON, March 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Stone & Webster Engineering Corporation today announced that, under a contract recently awarded by Arabian Consulting Engineering Centre (ACEC), Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia, it will provide engineering and other services to assist ACEC in doubling the size of the world's largest seawater intake structure. The massive new intake structure will provide more than an additional 1.8 million gallons per minute (100 cubic meters per second) of seawater. The seawater will be used for cooling purposes in the rapidly expanding industrial city, located on the Arabian Gulf at Madinat Al-Jubail Al-Sinaiyah.
 ACEC, with support from Stone & Webster, will provide engineering, design, and procurement services to the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, which is directing the development of the industrial city. Bugshan S&W Company (BSW), Dammam, a Stone & Webster affiliated company, will provide in-kingdom construction technical support for the four-year project.
