STONE & WEBSTER ELECTS PESKE A DIRECTOR; HARRIS A VICE PRESIDENT

 BOSTON, Feb. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- The board of Stone & Webster Engineering Corporation has elected Sherry Peske a director and John A. Harris a vice president.
 Ms. Peske joined Stone & Webster in January 1989 as assistant manager of Washington Operations after 15 years with the Department of Energy and its predecessor agencies--the Atomic Energy Commission and the Energy Research and Development Administration. During 1987, she was detailed to the staff of the Energy and Water Subcommittee of the House Appropriations Committee.
 When she left DOE, Ms. Peske was director of the Office of Uranium Enrichment Business Operations, responsible for all business functions of the program including domestic and international uranium sales amounting to about $1.5 billion annually. She was a member of the Senior Executive Service.
 Ms. Peske, who was named a vice president in 1991, is married to Ted D. Tarr. They have one daughter and live in Rockville, Md.
 Harris, also based in Washington, has been Stone & Webster Engineering Corporation's Manager of Public Information since 1979. After eight years with the AP, he spent 22 years in government as Director of Information Services for AEC, Director of Public Affairs at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and Deputy Director of Public Affairs at DOE. He and his wife, the former Gwen Glass, live in Damascus, Md.
