DRIVING schools are passing off trainee instructors as fully qualified teachers - and most learner drivers are none the wiser.

And many do not know the pink badge on teachers' windscreens means they are not fully qualified - with some even believing it is the mark of a top-quality instructor.

AA president Edmund King said: "Many driving schools charge as if it's a fully qualified instructor but give you a trainee. There's a canyon between what learners think they are paying for and what they get."
