STEWART & STEVENSON SERVICES, INC. SIGNS THREE YEAR CONTRACT WITH SAINT JOHN NAVAL SYSTEMS LIMITED OF HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA

 HOUSTON, June 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Stewart & Stevenson Services, Inc. (NASDAQ: SSSS), a leading manufacturer of diesel and gas turbine powered equipment, announced that it has signed a three year contract with Saint John Naval Systems Limited of Halifax, Nova Scotia to provide a gas turbine repair and overhaul program for 12 new Canadian Navy Patrol Frigates, each utilizing two LM2500 gas turbines. Annual revenue from this contract should approach $10 million. Stewart & Stevenson will provide field service and complete component and engine overhaul in its facility, located in Houston. The company has a complete repair and overhaul shop including a 50 megawatt gas turbine engine test cell as part of its resources. After overhaul of an engine, this test cell will be utilized to provide a full load certified test prior to returning the repaired engines to the Canadian Navy.
